I can’t wait to begin using your resistance band training system. Yesterday, just after watching the form and techniques you described in your video, my son increased his time running from home to first base by 0.7 seconds from just improving his sprinting form.
At the start of practice he ran 5.34 and 5.17 second runs to first, which is his typical runs.
I started him performing some of your exercises and leg lifts, etc., and described your prescribed posture. His next run was 4.93.
We talked about where he slowed down (2/3 of the way).
Goes from a 4.9 second (home base to first) to a 4.52 seconds!
His next run was 4.52. He’s never done better than 4.9 in the past.
I believe your explanation of running technique was huge in terms of his immediate improvement.
My son is now excited and eager to beat 4 seconds. Next year he tries out for the high school baseball team.
He’s got a great bat, good arm(pitcher) but he’s terribly slow. One of the requirements for H.S is a <4 second run to first base. thanks for your help.
P.S.
I forgot to mention that my son’s average sprint to first base was between 5.0 and 5.3 seconds (very slow) for last year and this year.
After performing your drills and reviewing your form explanation on the first day he ran a 4.52 second run. My son was shocked to see the stopwatch.
thanks again.
